To Not Be Sorry
It was the night
that turned me into something
that wasn’t right,
that wasn’t who I wanted lying
next to you.
When we woke up
and we were still and silent,
it shook me up
and so I went outside and struggled
to turn around.
Now we’re okay.
Now we are laughing happy.
Pray for the day
when we can laugh and not be sorry
for throwing stones.
